The Velvet Monkey Tea Shop, located in the historic 1893 Wright Building in downtown McMinnville, Oregon, was established by Salem Sharfeddin in 2010. Salem procured teas from around the world and created his own unique custom blends.

When Richard and Serengeti had their first date at the Velvet Monkey in February of 2016, Salem picked the first tea they ever shared.

Five years later, when Salem retired, he asked Richard and Serengeti if they would like to take it over.
